FAQS

The Generals Cash Card is the official identification card of Herkimer County Community College. Issued to all students, faculty, and staff, the Generals Cash Card is required for identification and access to essential campus services. It also offers a convenient account – Generals Bucks – for making cashless purchases on and around campus. All students, faculty, and staff are currently eligible to receive a Generals Cash Card.
Returning students should already have a card. All new students will receive a Generals Cash Card upon arriving to campus. A $15 College ID fee for the Card is included in your bill for all on-campus students each semester to cover the cost of operating the Generals Cash Card.
If you lose your Generals Cash Card immediately visit the Generals Cash Card Account Management Center or call 1.888.913.HCCC (4222) to disable your Generals Cash Card Account.
Then, contact the ID Card Office located in the Robert McLaughlin College Center to deactivate all other services and obtain a new card. A $10 fee will be charged for a replacement card.
The Generals Bucks Account is a prepaid spending account on your Generals Cash Card offering a safe and convenient way to make purchases on and around campus. Unused balances roll over semester-to-semester and year-to-year. You must add value or authorize your financial aid to your Generals Bucks Account before using it to make purchases. You must have sufficient value available in your Generals Bucks Account to pay for each transaction. Each time you use your Generals Bucks Account, the amount of the transaction will be deducted from your account. You may not spend more value than you have.
Your 16-digit Generals Bucks Account number is located on the front of your card.
Funds transferred by debit/credit card and cash are available instantly. Check deposits are available on the business day received. If a check is returned to us by your financial institution for insufficient funds, the deposit will be reversed from your Generals Bucks account and a Returned Payment/Check fee will be assessed. If the Returned Payment/Check fee creates a negative balance in your account, you will be contacted to make another payment to the account.
The Generals Bucks Account works much like a debit or credit card. Just present your Generals Cash Card for payment to the attendant at the register. Your card will be swiped in a terminal and the transaction authorized. You will need to sign a printed receipt of the approved transaction.
The Generals Bucks Account is accepted for payment on and around campus. Just look for the “Welcomed” Signage! Click here to see a complete list of accepting locations.
